Foundations of DGGV


100 years Hermann Credner-Stiftung of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für Geowissenschaften

Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hermann Credner received a donation of 21.962 Mark from Deutsche Geologische Gesellschaft (DGG) because of his 70th birthday. The 347 donators recommended the formation of the Hermann-Credner-Foundation, which should be managed by DGG. The first scholarship was awarded 1913.

The Rolf und Marlies-Teichmüller-Prize is awarded to geoscientists for outstanding research in the field of coal petrology. Moreover, the Teichmüller-Foundation supports MSc and PhD theses, which are focusing on less regarded, but important geological topics.
