Publications

The most important scientific products of the parent society are the ZDGG (Journal of Applied and Regional Geology / Zeitschrift der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Geowissenschaften), which has been published since 1848, and the IJES (International Journal of Earth Sciences / Geologische Rundschau), which has been published since 1910. Further publication series are the SDGG (Schriftenreihe der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Geowissenschaften) and the EDGG (Exkursionführer und Veröffentlichungen der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Geowissenschaften). While the Geohistorische Blätter are dedicated to the history of geosciences, the journal Gmit Geowissenschaftliche Mittteilungen is the joint news journal of several professional societies. Every year, the DGGV also publishes Der Geologische Kalender (The Geological Calendar).
