Educational offerings

From the very beginning, DGGV has placed great emphasis on educational opportunities for its members. Thus, as early as 1849, conferences and excursions as well as monthly lecture events were the focus of the association’s activities – and this has remained so until today. Via DGGV’s website, members and users interested in geoscience can access information on the most diverse educational offers:

Conferences

Every year in autumn, the DGGV holds its large annual conference at ever-changing locations. Further conferences on special topics are organized by the various DGGV sections and working groups.

Field trips

For many years, the DGGV has offered geoscientific field trips, guided by professional colleagues, which are suitable for both professionals and those interested in geoscience. Members of the DGGV receive a discount.

Webinare

Through its website, DGGV offers an ever-expanding range of webinars on various geoscience topics.

The System Earth

The series “The System Earth” is intended for all those interested in geoscience, but especially for teachers and learners at educational institutions. On these web pages, the DGGV provides teaching and learning material with explanatory videos, texts and illustrations for use in the classroom or for self-study. (Only in German)
